PALP – Palazzo Pretorio Pontedera

Il Palp è nato nel 2016 negli spazi del Palazzo Pretorio di Pontedera.
Il nucleo originario dell’edificio risale alla metà del ‘300, ma il suo aspetto attuale è frutto di una stratificazione storica ricca e complessa. Situato nel cuore storico della città, divenne nel 1400 sede della Podesteria e alla fine del ‘700 Vicariato. Nel 1848 il palazzo ospitò i locali della pretura e fino al 2013 è stato sede della Sezione distaccata del Tribunale di Pisa.
I recenti lavori di restauro e adeguamento, hanno reso Palazzo Pretorio un centro espositivo d’eccellenza.
Al piano terra, composto in parte da un loggiato chiuso con vetrate, il Palp ospita un servizio di caffetteria e ristorazione. Il primo piano si sviluppa su due livelli ed è adibito a spazio espositivo per mostre temporanee, mentre i locali delle ex carceri, posti al piano terzo, sono visitabili e possono ospitare eventi artistici.

I LOVE LEGO arriva a Pontedera con oltre 1 milione di moduli dei mattoncini più famosi al mondo che vanno a comporre strabilianti mondi in miniatura, dalla città contemporanea al medioevo, dallo spazio all’antica Roma fino al mondo dei Pirati, per decine di metri di esposizione. Inoltre, tra le diverse installazioni, saranno presenti alcuni oli ispirati ai grandi capolavori della storia dell’arte realizzati dall’artista Stefano Bolcato e rielaborati in “chiave lego”.

PALP was born in 2016 inside the Palazzo Pretorio, in Pontedera.
The native nucleus of the building dates back to the mid-‘300, but what that we can see today is the result of a rich and complex historical stratification.

Located in the historic centre, Palazzo Pretorio in the ‘400 th became the headquarter of the Podesteria and then, at the end of the 700th, of the Vicariate. From 1848 until 2013 the palace has been the place of the local court and the top floor still hosts the prisons.

Palazzo Pretorio thanks to the recent renovation has become an excellent exhibition centre.
On the ground floor we can find Mandarino’s caffè, on the first floor there is a PALP’s place. This floor develops on two levels and it’s used as an art exhibition centre. On the third floor there are the old prisons, that in particular moments it’s possible visit it.

I LOVE LEGO

I LOVE LEGO arrives in Pontedera with over a million of modules of the most famous little bricks in the world that composed amazing in miniature world, from the contemporary city to the Middle Age, from the space to the ancient Rome until the world of pirates, along ten meters of exposition. Furthermore, among the the different installations, will be some oils inspired to the great work of the history of art realized by the artist Stefano Bolcato and re-elaborated into “lego key”.
